Safer Plates is a community crime-prevention initiative in New Zealand run by the New Zealand Police and Community Patrols of New Zealand (CPNZ). It replaces standard license plate screws with special tamper-resistant stainless steel screws to stop thieves from stealing number plates for use in other crimes.
